The Test Mode (Free account) has all of the capabilities of the paid version. The only difference is that signatures in Test Mode are not legally binding.
"all of the capabilities of the paid version" means the API has all capabilities of the paid version? When I try to create a template via the web page I get redirected to the pricing page (since free plan does not include templates).
HelloSign is currently working on getting plans provisioned for all hackathon participants to use for the remainder of the hackathon, and those plans will allow for use of templates created through the UI. More updates to follow shortly

When I go to add templates, I am getting redirected to the pricing page, and have only 2-3 signature requests remaining. I've just filled the form provided by Rosie, could you please update the status so that I may proceed to testing

At the moment, only embedded templates can be created without a 30 day free trial of a paid plan. Additional information on how to create embedded templates can be found here:
